Dedicated Client Support

As a customer, you will have direct access to a relationship manager, not a call center or automated system. Your relationship manager will be your personal advocate, ensuring banking needs are met promptly and efficiently.

We have experience in meeting the specific needs of embassies and consulates and can work directly with the Department of State to understand your requirements. Our compliance infrastructure is purpose-built to work directly with foreign missions. We support both foreign missions and associated public sector entities, including Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense.

Our Georgetown office in Washington, D.C., provides in-person support, and we regularly travel to meet clients across the country. We also have an office in San Francisco serving our West Coast clients.

Personal Banking for Diplomats and Embassy Staff

Hingham also provides banking services for embassy personnel and we can facilitate opening accounts for your staff, as well as direct ongoing support. Our personal banking solutions are also offered free of charge, including fee-free use of ATMs nationwide for qualifying customers.

Selam has over 11 years of experience in banking and was most recently a Community Manager at Congressional Bank where she was a member of the Political Banking team. Selam holds a bachelor of arts degree from Radford University.

Melissa joined HIFS in 2026.

Melissa Peredo is a Vice President and Relationship Manager in our Specialized Deposit Group. Melissa is based in San Francisco, where she specializes in providing banking services to our foreign mission customers nationwide. She also supports consumer and business deposit relationships. She is a San Francisco Bay Area native with over 30 years of experience in the banking industry.

Before this role, she spent 31 years at Citibank, where she served as Vice President in the Foreign Missions and Public Sector Banking segment. Her career also includes various banking roles in both the San Francisco Bay Area and the Washington DC Metro area.
