He has served as Chairman and CEO of the Bank since 1993. He previously served as President and CEO of the East Weymouth Savings Bank from 1981 to 1988. Mr. Gaughen has substantial experience in both commercial and residential real estate lending. He has served as a Director of the Savings Bank Association of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Bankers Association, and the Massachusetts Bar Association. He is responsible for identifying and implementing long-term growth and profitability initiatives for the Bank. Patrick also serves on the Board of Directors and on the Executive Committee. Prior to joining HIFS, Patrick was a Foreign Service Officer (FSO) with the Department of State, where he specialized in Near Eastern Affairs and served overseas. He holds a BA in History and Political Science from Yale University, an MA in Security Studies from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown, and an MA in Political Science from Duke University.

As the Chief Financial Officer, he is responsible for the financial management of the Bank, including asset-liability management, accounting, budgeting, and regulatory reporting. Prior to joining the Company, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of C1 Financial (and its subsidiary C1 Bank) between 2013 and 2016. Before that, he held different finance roles in private and publicly listed companies in Brazil and Chile in different sectors. He is responsible for developing, administering, and monitoring Bank programs to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and Bank policies. He has been practicing law since 2003, beginning his career at Constable & Associates of Hingham. He has substantial experience in all phases of residential lending transactions and federal regulatory analysis and most recently he has served as Compliance Analyst with BNY Mellon in Boston. He is responsible for the Information Technology infrastructure of the Bank, including managing the core infrastructure and the data warehouse. He also supports the development and implementation of customer-facing technology products. He began his Information Technology career in 1998 with Customer Computer Solutions Inc, dealing with all aspects of Information Technology. She leads the Bank’s Human Resources Department. Brenda comes to HIFS from Goodwin Procter, LLC and previously had spent 18 years at MFS Investment Management. He is now responsible for the Bank’s facilities and construction loan inspections. He previously served as the Bank’s Accounting Officer when he joined HIFS in 1990. He coordinates and manages the residential mortgage and consumer lending activities of the bank. Mr. Sinclair brings more than 20 years of mortgage banking experience to HIFS. He began his career in 1981 with Quincy Savings Bank serving as Assistant Vice President/Secondary Market. In 1994, he joined Abington Savings Bank as Vice President in the mortgage lending area.
